Our Trip Highlights
Here’s a sample list of some of the many attractions and activities the students will see and do on this trip. This trip is going to be so much fun and the students are going to learn so much!
San Juan, Puerto Rico
This capital city is rich in Spanish Revival architecture, pristine beaches, and a renowned nightlife that pays homage to the historically proud and energetic Puerto Rican culture. Located on Puerto Rico’s Atlantic coast, San Juan is the island’s largest city and an important industrial seaport. The city’s central district, known as Old San Juan, dates to Spanish colonial times and boasts a variety of defensive buildings and forts to explore.
La Parguera Bioluminescent Bay
A truly spectacular and magical experience—enjoy an evening kayaking or swimming adventure as the water around you emits an otherworldly blue glow that lights up the night. The bioluminescent bay is home to millions of single-celled dinoflagellates—half-plant, half-animal organisms—that flash with blue light when stirred by nighttime swimmers.
Zipline Canopy Tour
Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Puerto Rico’s lush tropical canopies as you glide above ocean shorelines, mountains, and lagoons.
El Yunque National Forest visit
Surrounded by thousand-year-old trees, catching glimpses of the vibrant Puerto Rican parrot, and listening to the distinctive chant of the coquí frogs—said to fall silent if taken from the island—you’ll understand why native Puerto Ricans once believed this forest was the home of the god of happiness. El Yunque, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System, is an incredible place to experience the rich biodiversity of a true rainforest.
