Our Trip Highlights
Here’s a sample list of some of the many attractions and activities the students will see and do on this trip. This trip is going to be so much fun and the students are going to learn so much!
Robotics Workshop at Launch Math and Science Center
Utilizing a programmable Hummingbird Duo Microcontroller as the brain, students use various motors, sensors, LEDs, wheels, and body parts to build their designs. They then bring their creations to life by using Snap!, Python, or Java.

Spyscape
Engross yourself in this espionage museum and learn what it takes to be a spy. Your adventure through various galleries teaches you about real-life spies, the tools they use, and even what spy roles you would be best suited for.

National Geographic Encounter
Students engage with an underwater experience that transports them across the Pacific Ocean to learn about marine biology, ecosystems, and ocean conservation.

Stageone Robotics and Coding Helicopter Workshop
In this workshop designed and operated by MIT PhD graduates, students have the opportunity to collaborate on both hardware and software design by building circuitry and writing software together. Utilizing an Arduino microprocessor as the base, they create, program, and fly a helicopter.

MIT Museum Sail into Engineering
Students learn about the engineering design process by building and testing their own model boat. Participants use modern technologies, such as computer-aided-design and laser cutting, and explore the methods that Nathanael Herreshoff used to design and build over 2,000 boats, including five America’s Cup winning yachts.

New York Academy of Science Wind Turbine Workshop
Students will learn about clean energy options by designing and experimenting with wind turbines. They will determine how to maximize power output and how to use a digital multimeter to measure power output.

National 9/11 Memorial
Take time to reflect as you visit the twin pools paying tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims of the September 11, 2001, attacks. Learn about how America changed forever from that day forward.
